How much sleep does your child need?

With all the new technology (e.g. fitness apps and lifestyle trackers) and social media there is increasing pressure on parents to determine how much children should sleep. Each child is unique, so their sleep needs will also be individual.

It is generally more important to consider the individual: how they feel in the morning, the child's behaviour, when they sleep, changing sleep patterns, and their general health and development.

This a rough guide as to how much sleep children should be getting. However, you know your child best, so in general it makes more sense to do what you think feels right. Don't forget, I am here if you'd like to have a chat about sleep in your family.
